Really sorry for the long time between blogs. We usually are much better at getting information out to you all. Thanks to Susanne and John for posting the new Soda edition to our taps.
Anyway.... I was away for about 10 days taking care of some personal family stuff in Florida. When I got back I ended up with a pretty bad cold or flu... still have part of it hanging on.
But... no more excuses. On to the news....
We had a staff meeting last Wednesday evening at the brewery and discussed a lot of items not the least of which was the upcoming closing of the Beer Store on Goldsboro Street. We, of course are very sorry to hear this news. Friday, April 29th is the last night it will be open.
217 Brew Works is hosting a private event that night and we will be closing at 6pm to set up. We encourage you to head over to the Beer Store and say your goodbyes to Kevin and Sharon.
As a result of the closing our staff has decided to extend our days and hours starting on May 1st. We will be open from Friday through Wednesday each week. We will extend our closing hours from 9 pm till 10 pm each night except Sunday. We will close on Sundays at 7 pm rather than 6 pm.
Opening times will remain the same Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at 4 pm. Saturday and Sunday opening at Noon.... closing at 10 pm on Saturdays.
Monday is still Open Mic Night 5:30 pm till 9:00 pm. Last call at 9:30.
Wednesday night we will be hosting the running club that had met at the Beer Store every Wednesday. We will do our best to make this transition as easy as possible.
We will also begin to feature live music and food trucks every weekend rotating on Friday and Saturdays.
The first of these new weekend events will be on May 5th.
You are thinking ... Oh... Cinco de Mio... well, kind of. We are calling it Cinco de GRINGO since most believe, incorrectly, that it is a Mexican Holiday. We will have (we hope) a TexMex Food Truck and Live Music from 4 (when we Open... it's a Friday) till 10 pm, our new closing time.
Every other Sunday we will continue to host the popular Pot Luck Dinner gathering from 3 till closing (test question... what is our new closing time on Sunday???).
Hope this was not too confusing.
Come by and see the new Local Artist Wall featuring ‘Beer' related works that support the month of April as NC Beer Month. We have ‘passports' for those of you who travel to NC Breweries.
As always we appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at 217 Brew Works.... 217 South Street, in Historic Downtown Wilson.
