Well another challenge has hit the project. While cutting the floor drains yesterday it was discovered that the entire concrete surface is sitting on the original "horse stable" dirt which is causing the remainder of the floor to float. Meaning it would not be able to hold the weight of the operations side of the brewery.
We begin the process of removing all the concrete floor and the soil it is sitting on. It will be replaced with new soil that will support a new concrete floor.
Not the best news but better to know it now rather than find it after the equipment was installed.
We are reworking the schedule but still hope to be able to complete the entire interior up fit in time for a November opening. Lots will depend on the dedicated work of our contractors as well as the help of the City of Wilson permit and inspection staff to work with us toward getting the required certificate of occupancy.
Keep checking back for updates.
